Histories

Heather Grant is the author of Great Queensland Women, 21 stories of women from the 1800s to mid 1900s who made their mark on Queensland's development.

The Queensland Government's Office for Women commissioned Great Queensland Women to commemorate the 2005 centenary of women gaining the right to vote in Queensland.

Australian Women's Book Review wrote of her work: "aspects of the women's lives dance under Grant's pen".

Queensland Governor Quentin Bryce wrote: "It's a wonderful resource that I know I will be dipping into often. Thank you for bringing our history to us."

Queensland Country Women's Association's Alison Payne said "I would heartily recommend Great Queensland Women to anyone as a good read. It is an inspirational book - it will not sit idly on my bookshelves."

Heather Grant is available as a speaker talking about these trailblazers and has presented at conferences, International Women's Day functions and at schools.
